Cloud Native Computer Foundation and Linux Foundation Training and Certification today announced the new Cilium Certified Associate (CCA) certification. Cilium offers advanced networking, security, and observability services, enhancing communication between containerized applications while providing deep visibility and fine-grained control over network traffic.
IT professionals with Kubernetes and cloud-native skills are expected to be in high-demand for at least another decade. Those that earn their CCA certification will stand out to employers.
“Cilium and the eBPF stack are very powerful technologies shaping the future of cloud native networking and observability. Having access to the CCA certification enables developers to officially showcase proficiency in working with Cilium and makes it easier for employers to hire the right developers for the job,” said Chris Aniszczyk, CTO, CNCF.
Designed for platform and cloud engineers, successful candidates will have Kubernetes knowledge. Those that have achieved Linux Foundation Kubernetes and Cloud Native Associate (KCNA) certification, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) certification are ideal candidates.
The Cilium Certified Associate (CCA) certification will test the following domains:
- Architecture: 20%
- Network Policy: 18%
- Service Mesh: 16%
- Network Observability: 10%
- Installation and Configuration: 10%
- Cluster Mesh: 10%
- eBPF: 10%
- BGP and External Networking: 6%
The certification exam is currently in development. Interested Kubernetes professionals can sign up to be notified when the exam is generally available here.
